Pullers for Removing Bearings and Pulleys

Pullers for Removing Bearings and Pulleys

Pullers

A detailed buying guide: how to choose a puller.

Pullers remove bearings, gears, pulleys and other pressed-on parts from a shaft without damage. This section is for two- and three-jaw mechanical and hydraulic hand pullers. General guide: how to choose clamps, vises and holding tools.

What to consider when choosing a puller

Number of jaws

A three-jaw puller is more stable and spreads force evenly, while a two-jaw puller fits narrow spaces.

Reach and spread

Check the maximum spread and working depth for the part being removed.

Force

For large seized parts choose a hydraulic puller (5-20 t), for small ones a mechanical screw puller.

Material

Forged steel jaws do not bend under load. Read hand tool materials, hardness, coatings and ergonomics.

Safety

The jaws must grip the part securely; wear safety glasses. Read how to use hand tools safely.

Care

Oil the centre screw and clean the jaws. Read how to maintain, store and organize hand tools.

At ToolsArmenia you can choose pullers by number of jaws, spread and force.
