Cordless Caulking Guns: 12–20 V Models for Cartridges and Foil Packs

Cordless Caulking Guns: 12–20 V Models for Cartridges and Foil Packs

Cordless Caulking Guns

A detailed buying guide: how to choose a cordless caulking gun.

This section covers cordless caulking guns for applying silicone, polyurethane and acrylic sealants, construction adhesives and two-component compounds in an even bead. The category includes compact 10.8–12 V and 18–20 V models with cartridge, foil-pack or barrel holders. The tool is useful for window fitters, tilers, car workshops and home renovation, and working without a cable is convenient on a ladder and along facades. For general advice on cordless equipment, read how to choose a cordless tool.

What to consider when choosing a cordless caulking gun

Type and purpose

Open-frame guns are designed for 300–310 ml cartridges, while barrel models take 400–600 ml foil packs and bulk material. There are also models for two-component cartridges. For comparison with manual guns, see how to choose manual fastening tools: staplers, riveters and applicator guns.

Thrust force and speed control

Thrust force is usually 1.5–5 kN: for thick polyurethane sealants and adhesives choose more than 3 kN. A 4–6 step feed-rate control and a progressive trigger help produce an even bead. Read what is speed control.

Cartridge volume and compatibility

Check which sizes the gun accepts — 310 ml cartridge, 400 or 600 ml foil pack — and whether the holder can be changed. Sealant viscosity must match the tool force. See how to check consumable compatibility with a tool.

Battery voltage and capacity

10.8–12 V models are lighter and sufficient for silicone, while 18–20 V models are preferable for thick materials and large volumes. A 2–4 Ah battery usually covers dozens of cartridges. See cordless tool voltage (V) and battery capacity (Ah).

Platform and kit contents

A caulking gun is often bought as an addition to an existing battery system, so a body-only version can be more economical. Check battery compatibility with other tools on the same platform. Read what is a unified battery platform and how to choose a battery and charger.

Weight, ergonomics and anti-drip

With a battery, caulking guns weigh about 1.5–3 kg depending on the holder. An automatic anti-drip retract stops material flow when the trigger is released, and a rotating holder makes corner joints easier. See tool ergonomics, weight, and safety systems.

Safe operation and cleaning

Remove the battery when changing the cartridge, work in a ventilated area and clean the plunger and holder after use before the sealant cures. Read how to use cordless tools safely and how to clean a power tool.

At ToolsArmenia you can compare cordless caulking guns by voltage, thrust force, cartridge volume, speed control and weight and choose the right model for your jobs.
