A detailed buying guide: how to choose an extension ladder.
Extension ladders lean against a wall or structure to reach roofs, facades and high racking. This section has single, two- and three-section aluminium ladders.
A two-section ladder (e.g. 2x10) extends to nearly double height, and a three-section one can also stand as a stepladder.
The ladder should extend at least 1 m above the landing point when accessing a roof.
A wide stabiliser bar and rubber feet prevent slipping.
The correct angle is about 75°: 1 m out from the wall for every 4 m of height. Read how to choose a fall protection system.
Household ladders are usually rated 100-120 kg, professional ones 150 kg or more (EN 131).
Set the ladder on firm level ground, never stand on the top two steps and always keep three points of contact. Read how to organize a safe workplace.
