A detailed buying guide: how to choose an airless paint sprayer.
This section covers electric airless paint sprayers for fast, even coating of walls, ceilings, facades, fences, roofs and steel structures in renovation, construction and production. The unit pumps paint to the tip at high pressure without a compressor, so it can handle thick materials and large areas. For handheld electric paint sprayers, read how to choose an electric paint sprayer, and for pneumatic ones, read how to choose a pneumatic paint sprayer.
Diaphragm-pump units suit water-based emulsions, primers and varnishes and are more affordable, while piston-pump models handle thicker paints and anti-corrosion coatings and run for long periods without breaks. See differences between professional and household power tools.
Airless sprayers usually reach a working pressure of 200–250 bar and an output of 1–6 l/min. Thick materials and long hoses need higher pressure, and large areas need higher output. See what is working pressure.
The tip code (for example 517) shows the fan width and the orifice size in thousandths of an inch. Check the largest tip the unit can support and which materials the included tips are meant for. Read airless tip sizes, fan width and pressure.
Check which materials the manufacturer allows: water-based emulsions, latex and alkyd paints, varnishes, primers, anti-corrosion coatings or liquid filler. Thick materials need a more powerful pump and a larger tip. See electric paint sprayer delivery rate, nozzles, and paint viscosity.
Electric airless sprayers are usually rated at 600–2000 W. A brushless motor lasts longer and needs less maintenance, and stepless pressure control lets you set the right mode for each material. See how to choose tool power (W).
Hose length (usually 15–30 m) sets how far you can work from the unit, while a suction tube lets you draw paint straight from the bucket. Check gun comfort, filters and whether an extension pole can be fitted for high walls.
After work, flush the unit with water or a suitable solvent before the paint dries and clean the filters and tip. A quick-flush connection and easy-access filters save time. Read how to safely use and clean an electric paint sprayer.
A high-pressure jet can penetrate the skin, so never point the gun at people or touch the tip, and release the pressure and lock the trigger during breaks and cleaning. Work in a ventilated area wearing a respirator and goggles. Read how to use an airless paint sprayer safely and how to choose personal protective equipment.
At ToolsArmenia you can compare airless paint sprayers by pump type, pressure, output, maximum tip size, power and hose length and choose the right model for your painting work.
