Electric tackers and nailers are mains-powered handheld fastening tools designed for quick, repeatable driving of staples, brads/pins, or other fasteners expressly supported by the manufacturer. Typical applications include upholstery, thin timber, panelling, decorative trim, foils, textiles, and other approved materials. This category excludes manual tackers, cordless and pneumatic nailers, and powder-actuated fastening tools.

Fastener type, width/profile, and permitted length are the main compatibility limits. Bosch PTK 14 EDT accepts Type 53 staples from 6–14 mm and 14 mm nails, while Rapid EN330 accepts No. 8 brads from 15–30 mm. A larger magazine reduces interruptions, while a viewing window or reload indicator helps monitor remaining fasteners. Bosch specifies a maximum magazine capacity of 100 for the PTK 14 EDT, while Rapid EN330 uses a push-button magazine opening.
Firing rate indicates work pace, but it should be considered together with the actuation and safety system. Bosch lists 30 impacts/min for the PTK 14 EDT, while Rapid lists about 20 shots/min for EN330 and ESN530. Depending on the model, actuation may be single, contact, or two-step sequential.
Adjustable drive force helps when switching between materials of different density: excessive force can mark the surface, while insufficient force may leave the fastener proud. Bosch PTK 14 EDT and Rapid EN330 both provide drive/impact-force adjustment.
A flat or extended nose improves access to corners and tight spaces. Rapid ESN530 uses a flat front for closer wall access, while EN330 includes a non-marking rubber nose pad to reduce scratching.
