HiKOKI is Koki Holdings' primary power-tool brand, combining a broad corded and cordless range, the MULTI VOLT platform and tools for construction, installation, workshop and maintenance applications.
HiKOKI is the primary power-tool brand of Japan-based Koki Holdings Co., Ltd. The company was formerly Hitachi Koki Co., Ltd.; it changed its corporate name to Koki Holdings in June 2018, and the HITACHI power-tool brand was renamed HiKOKI in October 2018.
Koki Holdings traces its power-tool business history to 1918, when domestic production of electric drills began. That date refers to the company's power-tool heritage; the HiKOKI brand name itself has been used since 2018.
The current HiKOKI product architecture includes corded tools, multiple cordless voltage classes, the MULTI VOLT 36V platform, pneumatic fastening equipment, dust extraction and cleaning products, and outdoor power equipment.
MULTI VOLT is one of HiKOKI's key cordless systems. Compatible MULTI VOLT batteries operate with 36V MULTI VOLT tools and automatically change to 18V when used with compatible 18V slide-type tools.
This makes it possible to combine high-demand 36V machines with a range of 18V tools within the same battery architecture. Compatibility is not universal, however, and HiKOKI lists model-specific exceptions. Battery, charger and bare-tool compatibility should therefore be checked before purchase.
HiKOKI uses brushless motor technology in both cordless equipment and selected corded machines. Its official range includes brushless rotary hammers, demolition hammers, impact wrenches, electronic disc grinders, saws and other tools.
Motor type is only one selection criterion. Power, speed, accessory size, weight, operating modes and safety systems should also be matched to the application.
HiKOKI's official pneumatic range includes staplers, brad and finish nailers, coil and strip nailers and a high-pressure air compressor. Its cleaning range also includes dust extractors, vacuum cleaners, cleaners, blowers and other equipment.
This allows users to consider solutions for material processing, fastening and jobsite cleaning within the same brand architecture.
A distinguishing aspect of HiKOKI is the breadth of its connected tool architecture: corded machines, the 18V cordless range, MULTI VOLT 36V, pneumatic fastening systems and specialized equipment.
This range is useful for users working across construction, installation, workshop and maintenance tasks who need to select tools by application while also considering battery, charger and accessory compatibility.
For cordless tools, first determine the required voltage and battery platform. If considering MULTI VOLT, verify compatibility between the exact tool and battery. For rotary and demolition hammers, compare impact energy, SDS system and drilling capacity. For impact wrenches, compare maximum torque and square-drive size.
For angle grinders, consider disc diameter, speed and safety functions. For saws, compare blade size, cutting depth, guide-rail capability and dust-extraction connection.
The working accessory must match the tool's mounting system, dimensions and target material. Relevant options can be reviewed in the ToolsArmenia tool accessories, drill bits and chisels for rotary and demolition hammers and tool consumables sections.
