What to consider when choosing a screwdriver

Tip type

The tip must match the screw head: SL for slotted, PH for Phillips, PZ for Pozidriv and TORX for star recesses. The wrong tip damages both the screw and the tool.

Size and length

Choose the tip size (SL 5.5, PH2) by the screw and the shaft length (38-200 mm) by access.

Impact and insulated

An impact screwdriver can be struck with a hammer to free seized screws, while an insulated VDE screwdriver is made for live work.

Material
