A detailed buying guide: how to choose a hydraulic pallet truck.
This section presents hydraulic pallet trucks for lifting and moving palletised loads in warehouses, shops, production and on loading docks. Manual hydraulic pallet trucks usually have a load capacity of 2–3 t and standard forks for Euro pallets and other pallet types, and the market also offers models with scales, short or long forks and low-profile versions. They are used by warehouse staff, logistics companies, shops and building material yards. Hydraulic jacks and other hydraulic tools are found in the hydraulic tools section, and electric hoists in the electrical equipment section.
A standard manual pallet truck suits warehouses and shops with level floors, low-profile models suit low pallets, and trucks with scales let you weigh the load while moving it. For heavy and frequent handling choose a professional model with a reinforced frame. See what hydraulic tools are and how they work.
The most common load capacity is 2000–2500 kg, and models rated at 3000 kg or more are available for heavy loads. Choose with a margin of about 20–30 %, as the load on a pallet is not always evenly distributed, and never exceed the rated capacity. Read how to choose hydraulic tool load capacity and working force.
Standard forks are about 1150–1220 mm long, with an overall width of 540–550 mm for Euro pallets or about 685 mm for wider pallets, a lowered height of 75–85 mm and a lift height of about 190–200 mm. A pallet truck is only meant to lift a pallet off the floor and move it, so use a jack to lift vehicles or machinery. See how to choose a hydraulic jack.
Polyurethane wheels are quiet and do not damage the floor, so they suit indoor warehouses, nylon wheels are more wear-resistant and roll easily on smooth floors, and rubber wheels suit uneven surfaces. A pallet truck only works on a firm, level floor, so clear the aisles in advance. Read how to organize a safe workplace.
Never move a load on a slope without a helper, never stand on the forks and always fully lower the load before leaving the truck. Wear safety footwear that protects your feet from the wheels and the load. See how to use hydraulic tools safely and how to choose safety footwear and protective rubber boots.
Regularly check the hydraulic oil level and leaks, lubricate the axles and wheel bearings, and do not store the truck loaded. If the truck will not lift or lowers by itself, the oil or seals usually need replacing. Read how to store and maintain hydraulic tools.
Hydraulic unit repair kits, seals, steering and load wheels are wear parts whose replacement restores the truck to working order. Choose spare parts by model, load capacity and wheel size. See how to choose seals, gaskets, O-rings and repair kits and how to choose spare parts for pneumatic and hydraulic tools.
At ToolsArmenia you can compare hydraulic pallet trucks by load capacity, fork dimensions, wheel material and extra features and choose the right model for your warehouse.
