A detailed buying guide: how to choose a metal cutting disc.
Abrasive metal cutting discs cut steel, stainless steel, pipes, rebar and profiles. Thin discs (1-1.6 mm) cut fast with less heat, while thicker ones (2-3.2 mm) last longer.
A thin disc cuts sheet and tube cleanly, while a thick one copes with rebar and heavy stock.
For stainless steel choose an Inox disc free of iron and sulphur so the metal does not rust.
Flat discs (type 41) are for cutting, while depressed-centre discs (type 42) cut close to the surface.
Check the mounting size, maximum speed and the tool type the consumable is made for. Read how to check consumable compatibility with a tool.
Cut without forcing and never let the disc jam in the cut. Read how to use an angle grinder safely.
Abrasive discs have an expiry date printed on the metal ring.
At ToolsArmenia you can choose metal cutting discs by thickness, metal type, diameter and shape.
