Dielectric Mats: rubber insulating mats for switchboards

Dielectric Mats

A detailed buying guide: how to choose a dielectric mat.

Dielectric mats are laid in front of switchboards, in substations and by electrical equipment to insulate the worker from earth. They come in various sizes and voltage classes.

What to consider when choosing a dielectric mat

Voltage class

Choose the mat by equipment voltage, up to 1000 V or high voltage.

Dimensions

The mat should cover the whole working area in front of the panel, e.g. 75x75 cm or a 1x10 m roll.

Surface

A ribbed surface prevents slipping and bevelled edges prevent tripping.

Thickness

Thickness (6-12 mm) affects both insulation and durability.

Voltage class and testing

Dielectric equipment is rated by maximum voltage and must be periodically tested. Read how to read PPE markings, standards and replacement requirements.

Care and replacement

Keep the mat free of dust and check for cracks: a punctured mat does not protect.

At ToolsArmenia you can choose dielectric mats by voltage class, size, surface and thickness.
